Are you aware of it?29th April is Green holiday (it is in the memory of former Japanese emperor’sbirthday). 30th is Saturday, First May is Sunday, 3rd is constitution celebration,4th national holiday (no meaning) 5th is for children day (Check my earlier blog on Koinobori)My friend Mr.Mituhashi (owner of Mitz Trading) visited in our Ginza office today. He has a good business with Japanese army to supply Tanks from Europe to Japan. He has a special skill in that field.Conglatuations to Mr. AD - We could buy nice Porche 928 at USS Tokyo Auction today.  I guess is GPS system working in Canada ? Learning Russian !!

25th April 2005

Today I attended Russian language study course for the second time. I found Russian pronunciation very difficult though characters are not so difficult to read. I hope it willhelp me in my trip to Vladivostok from May 3 to 6. I also went to practise squash today. I played for about 2 hours, but it made me very tired. I am getting close to 40 now, so it takes time to recover from the tiredness.

How we can ship trucks in parts?

22nd April 2005

Today Mr. Shiotsu, President of Shiotsu Auto Trade visited me in our new office. He was on his way home to Osaka from his business trip to Malaysia. We then discussed how we could ship Japanese used trucks into parts to countries which do not allow import of used vehicles. You can have a look at some ways how we shipped trucks by cutting them into manageable parts. Soon, we are planning to ship some trucks to Russia in this manner.

Golden week and Koinobori

21st April 2005

Today it was raining all day in Tokyo. It was also busy day for me; Raj also seemed to be busy, as we are making a new HP to improve our customer service.Very soon it will be the time of Golden week in Japan. One of the days is the festival of Children’s day on May 5.  In Japanese culture we decorate our houses with carp streamers called as Koinobori. Since carp is a symbol of strength because of its ability to flow agaist the stream, the koinobori is considered as somethig which brings good luck and prays for the growth of a child.  My son is now 2 years old. So I hope he grows up strong. You can see here pictures of koinobori on the top of my house.

Soon we’ll have a new look to our HP

16th April 2005

We are now in the process of modifying our Home Page.  Our software professional Raj is working on it. We will make the HP more user-friendly - for example, we will introduce features like membership. automatic generation of invoices system, freight calculations, selecting vehicles directly from various auction houses in Japan etc. I’ve also started taking lessons in Russian language. And I am going to Russia from 3rd to 6th May.Today I have to take care of work at home -  many things do. Now I am going to play squash; I must practice hard for competition on 20th May in Fukuoka (southern part of Japan).

Starting my diary !!

6th April 2005

I’ve decided to write my diary from today and making it open to public. I will also introduce Japanese culture apart from news about used automobile world in Japan.

Today was a very busy day and there were many visitors in our office.  There were some irritating incidences too - especially when visitors residing in Japan call trying to hide their phone number. So I made it clear to those visitors that since our phone numbers are public, we expect the same from the customers. I also spend lot of time trying to explain to the customers that the average price of cars at the auction are not decided by us. We inform the auction price to the customers because we want to be transparent to them as much as possible. We’ll soon reorganize this website for ease of operation. The job is entrusted to Mr. Raj.Thank you for hundreds of mails I received today. It kept me busy in the night.  So please understand if my reply is short or poor.
