Golden week and Koinobori

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

Today it was raining all day in Tokyo. It was also busy day for me; Raj also seemed to be busy, as we are making a new HP to improve our customer service.Very soon it will be the time of Golden week in Japan. One of the days is the festival of Children’s day on May 5.  In Japanese culture we decorate our houses with carp streamers called as Koinobori. Since carp is a symbol of strength because of its ability to flow agaist the stream, the koinobori is considered as something which brings good luck and prays for the growth of a child. My son is now 2 years old. So I hope he grows up strong. You can see here pictures of koinobori on the top of my house.

Starting my diary !!

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

I’ve decided to write my diary from today and making it open to public. I will also introduce Japanese culture apart from news about used automobile world in Japan.

Today was a very busy day and there were many visitors in our office.  There were some irritating incidences too – especially when visitors residing in Japan call trying to hide their phone number. So I made it clear to those visitors that since our phone numbers are public, we expect the same from the customers. I also spend lot of time trying to explain to the customers that the average price of cars at the auction are not decided by us. We inform the auction price to the customers because we want to be transparent to them as much as possible. We’ll soon reorganize this website for ease of operation. The job is entrusted to Mr. Raj.Thank you for hundreds of mails I received today. It kept me busy in the night.  So please understand if my reply is short or poor.
